Ünal Uzunkaya wird 1982 in Linz geboren und endeckt mit 14 Jahren zunächst seine Liebe zur Photographie. Zwei Jahre später schnuppert er zum ersten Mal Film- und Fernsehluft als Kamera-Assistent beim ORF.
Mit 17 Jahren beginnt, er sein Filmstudium an der Kunstuniversität Linz. Begleitend dazu arbeitet er bei einer Vielzahl von TV- und Kinoproduktionen mit. Als 20jähriger macht er sich selbstständig und beginnt, in Eigenregie Dokumentar- und Imagefilme zu drehen.
Die Nominierungen seiner sozialkritischen Kurz- und Dokumentarfilme auf Internationalen Filmfestspielen verschaffen ihm einen Zugang zu einem breiten Publikum. Kurze Zeit später beliefert er als Kameramann Fernsehstationen wie ORF, MDR, ARTE, 3 Sat und BBC mit Fernsehbildern. Nebenbei absolviert er sein Filmstudium und erlangt 2007 den Magister Artium. Kurz danach beginnt der Regisseur seine Lehrtätigkeit in Kamera und Licht an der Kunstuniversität.
Seine berufliche Entwicklung garantiert, verbunden mit seinem akademischen Wissen über Dramaturgie und Inszenierung, eine Look- und Konzeptstärke, die ihm in der Werbewelt und auf internationalen Sets in Europa, Asien und den USA schnell einen Namen als Regisseur einbringen.
Born in 1982 in Linz, Ünal Uzunkaya initially discovers his passion for photography at the age of 14. Two years later he firstly gets into contact with the cinematographic sector while working as a camera assistant for the state television channel ORF.
Due to his unique talent Uzunkaya was already accepted to the Kunstuniversität Linz at the age of 17 and was therefore able to start his studies in film and directing from a very early age on. During this time he contributes to numerous TV and cinema productions. With only 20 years of age Uzunkaya decides to become self-employed and independently starts producing documentaries wand corporate image films.
Nominations for his socio-critical short films and documentaries at international film festivals allow him to reach a certain popularity and gain access to a broader audience. He soon starts supplying renowned television stations such as ORF, MDR, ARTE, 3Sat and BBC with television pictures. At the same time he completes his film studies and receives the academic degree Magister Artium (Master of Arts) in 2007.
He then assumes a teaching appointment at the Kunstuniversität Linz in the subjects camera and light. Combined with his academic knowledge of dramaturgy and production, his professional experience help him develop a strong look and conceptual strength. Alltogether this allows him to rapidly create the company label LANGSTEIN PICTURES and particularly a name for himself in the world of advertising and as a director on international film sets all over Europe, as well as large parts of Asia and the USA.
